Hello, my name is Chris German and I am entering my fifth year at Latta Middle School.  I graduated from Francis Marion University in Dec. 2006 with my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and I am currently working towards obtaining my Master's degree in Special Education with a concentration on learning disabilities from Francis Marion.  I am a firm believer that the children are our future and every child has a special gift; it's just up to us as educators to help reveal it to the world.
I am the proud father of two young men that I have been blessed to adopt in March, 2009.  Psymun, 18, is a recent graduate of Latta High School and will be entering the US National Guard in October 2011.  Job, 17, is currently a senior at Latta High and he has aspirations to going into the US Navy.  Even though I "cheated" into parenthood, I really enjoy being a father.
Currently, I am the head coach of the JV Football, Basketball, and Baseball teams and an assistant coach in all three sports.  Coaching allows me to teach young men life lessons not just for the sport but life in general.
8th Grade Weightlifting
This is my third year teaching weightlifting and we are very excited about the new workout programs that will be implemented after the 1st 9 weeks.  Your child should be physically stronger and faster if he does his workout everyday to his maximum potential.  This year is the first year they will get graded for high school credit, so there's more incentive for your child to do great.  He will be graded on dressing out everyday 50% and class participation 50%.  Your child will "MAX OUT" every 6 weeks to check their progress.
7th Grade Life Skills
The Life Skills class is designed to give your child an opportunity to get extra help and time with assignments.  They are required to bring work to class everyday.  This is my first year teaching this class and I am enjoying teaching it thus far.
6th Grade Careers
This is my second year teaching the careers class and I am very excited in navigating the world of careers with your child.  This class isn't just looking for jobs and colleges.  They will learn lots of lessons that will benefit them later in life.  There are many hands on projects that your child will encounter throughout this semester such as: career collages, college search, team work commercials, and career power points.
